Still hard, even with hints and cheats. πŸ˜† Or maybe I don’t know enough WordPress internals? 😬 Argh! I gave up on today’s #WordlePress after 16 guesses. 😭😭😭 🟩⬜️⬜️⬜️ x 9 🟩⬜️🟩⬜️ x 6 🟩🟩🟩⬜️ Test your #WordPress dev knowledge at https://wordlepress.com/

Catching up on reading. This is a great little tutorial from @briancoords@wpbuilds.social using the new #WordPress #JavaScript packages. https://www.briancoords.com/recreating-the-quick-draft-dashboard-widget-using-the-wordpress-data-layer/ The JSX + components seem like such a no-brainer. But I realise I’m basically allergic to big piles of dependencies. If I build this, how long until it breaks? πŸ€”

OK, this is kinda wild. The bookmarklet (!!) version of my #WordPress command palette, Turbo Admin, is now the latest beta version complete with all the new search modes (inc WooCommerce). Feel free to test this out and send feedback. Bear in mind it’s beta so it may be buggy. https://turbo-admin.com/bookmarklet.html

Today’s WordlePress puzzle is even harder than normal! Something to learn perhaps. HOWEVER! The link to the #WordPress docs when you win or give up doesn’t work. Seems like this particular function isn’t documented. Not much I can do about that. Sorry.

Cripes. WordlePress took 101 guesses today. Was kinda fun once I got the first three words though. A few amusing suggestions for the final word got me giggling. Am I a WordlePress bore yet? Sorry. (Not sorry) https://wordlepress.netlify.app/ #WordPress

A big lump of fun “recreational coding” this weekend. Wanted to tackle WordlePress – my SUPER difficult and vaguely educational #WordPress function guessing game. Aside from sharing results, it’s now, I think, “feature complete”: – Daily + random puzzles – Much more help with entering words – Saves data BUT… the UI still needs a …

Read the #WordPress Accessibility team’s #Gutenberg report. I have huge respect for the people building GB. I WANT to like it. But many of the issues outlined here reflect mine. It’s too complicated & too difficult to use. https://w4e.uk/gba11y

#WordPress Given the accessibility issues, isn’t the solution to launching Gutenberg at #WCUS to have it opt-in on update/install and with an option to opt back out if you decide you don’t want it? Which is kinda how I ALWAYS said it should be released?

Thought I should write a bit about the contexts in which I try to think about the #WordPress #Gutenberg project. https://rosswintle.uk/2018/08/on-behalf-of/

Today’s #WordPress #Gutenberg update is, IMO, a step in the right direction. But also feels a bit πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. A chance to simplify things has ended up with more obscurely-named options. https://make.wordpress.org/core/2018/08/31/whats-new-in-gutenberg-31st-august/
