TIL: Safari is SUPER fussy about parsing dates:
September 4 2018 10:40:00 ✅
2018/09/04 10:40:00 ✅
2018-09-04T10:40:00 ✅
2018-09-04 10:40:00 ❌
😬
(Note: IE is the same, but Edge gets it right – come on Safari!!)

Sodding dates. Programmers, if anything involves dates, be sure to add about 50% to your initial estimate/quote. 🙄
I don’t even know if I’m allowed to do this…?
I mean, it’s just a circle with a drop shadows and an inner shadow, right? It doesn’t represent anything, really. Totally abstract.
Your thread should have been a blog post: http://www.patrickrhone.net/4480-2/
Worth saying that no, none of this is difficult work. And yes, I’m building a simple custom CRUD dashboard.
It’s time consuming, but I’m reinforcing the #Laravel basics to get them into “muscle memory”.
Next up: Teacher Training Days!
A little coding this morning while the kids watch CBeebies. Just in time for the new term, you (well, I!) can now add/delete term dates in Schoolbot. Nudging this project along.
Church satire is a niche, but The Ship has a high profile within it and has, over the years become important to many people.
A lot of this project was behind the scenes and was about people rather then technology.
It’s a big change. We worked hard on it. I hope people like it!
I can now say: It’s been a privilege to work with the Ship of Fools team on their new website, launched a few weeks ago at https://shipoffools.com/
It seems like a simple WordPress magazine site, but there’s some custom Gravity Forms workflows and a tricky content migration too
Oh yay! Sainsbury’s are doing Create the World Lego cards again – time to update https://swaptheworld.uk then! (Need to make it GDPR compliant too!)
Yesterday’s wedding reminded me of my own wedding vows, promises. Perhaps this is something we need to be reminded of more often? https://rosswintle.uk/2018/09/remembering-your-promises/
Thought I should write a bit about the contexts in which I try to think about the #WordPress #Gutenberg project. https://rosswintle.uk/2018/08/on-behalf-of/
I love pretty much everything Tom Scott does on YouTube. This has some great stuff on creativity and making stuff. Love it. https://youtu.be/h0AMaW4XRCI
The #Gutenberg update seems to be presented as “advanced” users wanting a simpler interface, with the implication that less advanced users want a more complex interface? I really don’t understand the logic.
Today’s #WordPress #Gutenberg update is, IMO, a step in the right direction. But also feels a bit 🤦♂️.
A chance to simplify things has ended up with more obscurely-named options.

OK. 🚀🚀🚀 Day! Let’s do this!
This is really quite ridiculous. I don’t even drive or travel much. How do we fix this nonsense?
I pray the mundanity of things like my last post are enough to distract you from the overwhelming sense of fear, dread and hopelessness that the fast-approaching freight train of current affairs leaves you feeling.
You are welcome! 😃
On a bit of a short-blogging roll. In this one I discuss how replacing corded household appliances with cordless ones has been a real boon in the last few months. Yes, I’m now a household-appliance blogger. 😬
I think this is also true…
I stand corrected. The last post was a Euler Diagram!
