I had a stupid number of Twitter accounts that I'd spun up for side projects and other crazy ideas.
Finally in the process of shutting them all down.
That's a few users less than you had before, Elon.

Our team leader put “Walk the Jira Board” on our meeting agenda today.
Sadly, it was not preceded by “Open the door” and “Get on the floor”
(And now it’s in YOUR head too!!!)
I don’t talk about work much. This is a personal-opinions account.
But it’s such a freaking honour to work on a product that I used and loved for so long.
Weirdly, now I make it, I don’t really use it much.
But now I’m inside, I see the attention to detail and the drive to do things right. It’s as impressive as I suspected it was.
I’ve had a chance to compare with some of the competition this week, and I’ve come to see that what I make is genuinely superior.
Crap…
Oh what?! Kagi was build by the ManageWP guy?
I did not know that. That’s very cool.

Gave blood again today. Properly back on a regular cycle after a ten year break.
It’s SO efficient now. Hardly any waiting around. Love it.
We’ve never done Elf on the Shelf. But we spontaneously started making my daughter’s huge bunny plushie do stuff while she’s at school.
She was a busy bunny today!!
Just found an old joke…
“I’ve really had it with my dog,” said the first guy to his neighbor. “He’ll chase anyone on a bicycle”
“Hmmm, that is a problem,” said the neighbor. “What are you thinking of doing about it?”
“Guess the only answer is to confiscate his bike!”
Me, nearly ten years ago:
I’m concerned about the future of WordPress. … I’m concerned that money is starting to influence its development more and more and that this is reducing the project’s open-ness.

Does anyone actually read BOOKS on their desktop?
I love the idea of web-based books, but the truth is I load them up in tabs but then rarely go back to them. I just really struggle to think of my laptop as a device I READ on.
Examples:

Do you read books on the web?
I read books on the web
I don’t read books on the web
I’ve not tried/other
I’m sure I’ve told this story before, but…
We have never had tyre valve issues.
A few months ago we had a tyre valve issue. Fixed in 30 seconds by the roadside mechanic (after 15 minutes looking for the tool!)
Afterward I swore I would buy everyone in my family a valve tool.
I did not.
A couple of months later the exact same thing happens to my sister while on holiday in France.
I now have these. And I fully expect to never have tyre valve issues as long as it is in my glove box.
Do I know anyone else that's on Puzzmo? I need friends to compete against.
I finally got to reading @zuzana_kunckova's excellent article on diversity in tech.
I've been fortunate to work in teams with a lot of diversity, and I value it SO much and I know, from experience, that it's good for teams.
I endorse and support this message. Thank you Zuzana!
Oh, this is good. Chrome disabled the old one for me about a week back. Good work, @jetbrains and @phpstorm https://techhub.social/@phpstorm/114160062265790455
I’ve been shutting down some old web projects recently. It’s so weird looking back 6 years at when I attempted to build privacy-aware analytics.
I had this idea at about the same time Paul Jarvis had the idea for Fathom and started building it with @dvk
It was a great experiment. But I’m glad someone else took the idea and ran with it properly.
It seems my 9-year old child has written “a two voice poem using expanded noun phrases and figurative language".
What the hell are we teaching primary kids? This is ridiculous!
(She's very good at it though)
If I created an alt account to post about all the things I want to post about but can’t or don’t want to, would you all follow it and then promptly forget who it actually was???
I rarely swear out of anger and am 100% happy to pay my taxes but fucking interest on payments on account that no one told me I had to make is just bullshit.
I’d have paid if you’d told me I had to. You didn’t. You can’t charge me interest on a payment that I don’t know I have to make.
🤬
So here’s my tooling for reading the Internet on iOS. It’s getting to be a pretty sweet setup:
– Kagi search
– Feedbin via Reeder Classic for RSS
– @quicheindustries Browser
– @maxmelzer’s Flyleaf for a read-later list
– @mactanaka’s “Play” app for my YouTube queue
A pile of excellent, indie tools that give me a super-curated experience and some nice workflows.
So… I know it’s controversial because of the Yandex thing. I don’t know what to do about that. But heck, Kagi search is GOOD!!!
Modern world dilemmas. 😕
