Social media ban press conference.
GB News guy says: “Many children will be watching this on our morning programme”
Can we ban that??!

I’m hearing Siri on iOS 27 will be using LLM technology by default. And it will route to a cloud-based model (albeit a private one) as a first point of call, possible utilising a local model if the cloud one says it should. Is there no way to turn this off? Are all iPhones suddenly using cloud LLMs?
Well, this week was a thing.
– Kid stood on small rusty nail. Infection panic! (All well)
– Foot hurting so drove him to school. Road closed. 90 mins to drive 6 miles
– 4-hour power cut
– 2 birthdays
– News that a close relative is very ill -> emergency 275 mile drive. Solo parenting for a few days
I have done the “shake and fold” twice so far this weekend.
I believe this needs to be reported to you. 😃
Fun fact. Many years ago I got annoyed with people posting “Happy Birthday” on Facebook because Facebook had told them it was my birthday and had given them a button to press. A real friend – I argued – has gone to the effort of putting it in their calendar and actually writing a message.
I deleted my birthday from Facebook and ranted about it on Twitter.
Every year since, an internet friend that I’ve never met sends me a personal happy birthday message. And I love it. 😃
(You don’t have to!)
Here’s the Turbo Admin update post.
https://rosswintle.uk/2026/06/turbo-admin-1-21/
If you’ve no idea what this is and you use #WordPress a lot then… well… you’re missing out on a very cool tool that makes you WP life much better (in my own, humble opinion!)

The Indigo iOS app for Mastodon and Bluesky quite quickly replaced Ivory for me. The TapBots crew are great. I’ve supported them for literally years. But Indigo is being developed at pace.
Perhaps Ivory was “finished”? And I like that. But they’ve been outdone here.
Kinda sad in a way.
Just a note to any content producers that care… if your open graph image is clearly generic AI slop, in my head it just vanishes. It’s just noise. My brain filters it out.
Like those walls of AI slop posters on notice boards.
Yay! Turbo Admin sailed through Google Web Store approval. Update is rolling out to everyone.
Blog post coming soon.
Release of Turbo Admin is rolling out to Firefox (and Firefox-based browsers) now. Chrome needs web store approval. I’ll keep you posted.
Blog post and probably a video during the week!
I’ve also added a page about the tech stack and AI use (or almost complete lack of it) in Turbo Admin.
I’m proud that this is almost completely vanilla JS, HTML and CSS, and that it’s very, VERY hand crafted:
OK. Turbo Admin v1.21.0 is feature complete. Docs are done. I’m releasing tonight (I hope)!
It’s been a year, but this is a good one.
– Playground support
– Hide/pin menu items
– Hide the core command palette hint in the admin bar
Changelog for what’s coming: https://turbo-admin.com/changelog
It is really quite extraordinary what is available to apps without permission.
This is kinda interesting and fun. The next release of Turbo Admin will track (internally, 100% privately) command palette usage and admin site visits. These are for future features, but I can show them! There’s something compelling about it.
Must. Resist. “Turbo Admin Wrapped” at new year!!
It’s fascinating seeing others learning some of the things I’ve learned about building a #WordPress browser extension for five years! (Turbo Admin’s 5th birthday is THIS MONTH!)

Just set up a free site on @statichost to try it out. Beautifully simple. Fast control panel. Love it. Might have to take out a plan and move some more stuff over.
I somehow lost my swimming goggles two weeks ago, and my shorts and gym padlock at the weekend.
Baffling.
I do NOT lose thing. And I get very cross when I do.
If you use DBngin on MacOS and are running out of disk space, their latest update (build 82 from 21st May) downloads a 500MB installer several times a day and keeps it in ~/Library/Caches/com.tinyapp.DBngin/org.sparkle-project.Sparkle/PersistentDownloads/
https://github.com/TablePlus/DBngin/issues/190
I just reclaimed 50GB of space from here!
I’m very curious about the bird-themed, not-instant messenger app Roost. Seems weirdly … fun?
It has a slightly vibe-coded smell, but if anyone is brave and wants to send me a bird (or snail!) here’s my invite:
